Does anyone have information regarding when Aramco Saudi will cease operations for Ramadan? Rumor has it that they are off beginning August 4th and won't come back until the 18th.

That doesn't make sense since Ramadan has already begun.

Hi soverydeb: It has been my experience that the bulk of employers in Saudi do not give their employees the entire month of Ramadan off. For example, the government enies will begin their Ramadan break at the beginning of the third week. Previous companies I personally have worked for have started their vacation period at the beginning of the fourth week. I am just curious as to when Aramco's break begins. I'm surprised you do not know this. Do you work in Saudi?

Aramco will not cease work during Ramadan! However, the tradition is that many Saudis take the last 10 days of Ramdan off (along with the holiday for eid ), but as far as the company itself, it will maintain operation during the entire month of Ramadan

Then the rumour is incorrect. The 18th is in fact when the Eid holiday is due to start so the 18th would be the start of the official company "days off" period, not the end of it. The scheduled first day of normal work after the holiday should be August 25th (if the Eid starts on the predicted date, which it may not).
Even then, as Texas stated, the company does not cease operations. Most office workers may be on vacation but all plants and industrial facilities will continue to operate as normal.

I don't work for Aramco, but my husband does, and operations do not cease in all aspects of the company. Aviation doesn't take holidays.
