Hi all,
Well, Ive been here for approx 8 weeks and I am still waiting for Iqama. I got it first about 4 weeks ago and took it to open a bank account. The bank took a copy and sent the application to head office in Rhiyad, who prompty rejected it on the basis that the iqama had different arabic spelling/pronunciation than my middle name. Ok I thought a simple fix....so I went to passports and told them it needed to be fixed. An American who works in personnel took charge and told the Saudi staff to get a move on and get it fixed as its an important document.
Well here I am 4 weeks later still waiting.....I call and call and when they do answer they say oh you should contact this lady or ring this number....and pass the buck cause they have no idea.
Any advice on who to contact...?
Being Ramadan doesnt help.....

May be you should have tried some other bank, sometimes its upto the person who is verifying the record. But as of now, you can only pray and wait...
My prayers are with you...

You need to go to the passport office everyday. Seriously, this is how it works here. You don't show up, they don't do anything for you. Calling never works.
I will have the same issue when my Iqama expires. I have a friend who had his bank account frozen until he fixes his Iqama.
