I did a search on this as well... seems to depend on a few factors, but overall it seems no one wears suits or ties. Just pants and shirt. Some people responded they just wore jeans and polos sometimes. I'd say bring dress pants and decent shirts and if it seems your co-workers dress more casually than that, you're probably ok to tone it down.

Many of the Saudis wear thobes, the white dress. My husband is Saudi, but rarely wears a thobe. He buys most of his clothes from the US. He usually wears Dockers or other slacks and long sleeved dress shirts or polo shirts. He occasionally wears jeans and t-shirts. It all depends on what he has planned for that day. He's worn a suit maybe once.

If you're talking about the dress code in Saudi Aramco offices, it's pretty casual. In fact, if you ever see anyone in a suit, the chances are they're a visitor. Either that, or someone giving a presentation to upper management. Company employees almost never wear suits to work, in my experience. Most people don't wear ties either. Open-necked dress shirts or polo shirts with smart but casual pants, are fairly standard. Check out the following photo for a typical cross-section of Aramcons heading for work in the morning. I highly advise that you bring light-colored pants and shirts. It's very dusty over here and sand/dust tend to show on dark clothes, especially black or navy-blue pants....my experience so far.
Also bring good pair of shoes, bring more if you could, as you'll walk a lot especially if you'll be taking the bus. You will later find clothes and shoes in the city malls but for starters this will be good to have until you settle in.

Hi, Does anyone know if the employees at King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture have any particular dress code or what is the norm that is worn?
More formal then what is mentioned here perhaps?
Thanks

Volvofan, My husband works there. They are working at an offsite, portable building for now. Dress code is similar to what has been said here, definitely not more formal. Polos, dress shirts, pants, and occasionally jeans.

Can anyone advise on the dress code for Muslim women working within IT? Is it okay to wear abaya to work?

Of course you can wear it. Abaya for Muslim women is common as is a Thobe/Ghutra for men. Only place you won't see them is on plant.
Conservative dress is the minimum required for women in the workplace.

o, good question and one I've been tossing with, in my country of "origin" it is normal to wear "thobe", would it be acceptable to wear one in Saudi? or would the local team members be offended. It would be lovely if possible
