o all experts,
It has been a week now since I sent my medical and BI papers to Houston. I tried to call backchek to see whether or not they started my background check or not, and the answer is "we do not have you in the system". I called my relocator and she said "since you are married and family status, they need your marriage certificate to begin the check". Scanned and sent the marriage certificate, and I called on Friday to backchek, and still no application. Any ideas?
Ps: my kids school was approved in less than a week.

Just an FYI...Here in KSA, Saudi Aramco had a three-day weekend. Offices were closed Thurs-Fri-Sat. Not sure if that would impact the progression of the BI, but if it's only been a week since you sent stuff in, maybe you just need to hang in there. For us, it took several weeks for the BI to be resolved. At one point a couple of weeks into it, they called to clarify something, and then everything went radio silent for weeks. The relocation specialist had no update or info to share during that time, other than that it was in progress somewhere.

Try not to sweat it too much. My BI info was turned in back in April, and I'm still awaiting an outcome. By the threads that I have seen on the forum, a BI response that takes up to several months to resolve is not unusual.

It took me 3 months from when I sent my stuff in until everything was cleared. Patience is the key. Hang tight... its a loooong ride. But from what I have read and heard it will be worth it. I should be leaving for KSA within the next month.

Congratulations! Welcome to Aramco. Remember, the weather is sometimes very warm, the consolation is there is A/C everywhere.
I have found people here very warm-hearted too :-)

o all and thanks for your replies... I leant today that my papers have been forwarded on Friday (last friday), and I guess in 2-3 days things will begin... got the school cleared at least. Best of luck all  |

My kids acceptance only took a week as well. My BI and Medical took almost 2 months. I was even contacted by my background investigator for clarification on one issue. During the conversation, he told me that he didn't see any issues and was approving my BI. It took almost a month after the phone call before my relocation advisor emailed me letting me know it was approved. I had even called about two weeks after the BI had called me and ASC still hadn't heard from them. This definitely takes patience. Good Luck!!!

I received an email yesterday that my medical also has been cleared.. it is only the BI. My current supervisor (a super nice human being) told me that they called him..so I called backcheck and asked about my file and they said "Yes, your file is in production".... so now we sit and wait.
