o all,
I just received an email offer (no physical copy yet) from Aramco; unfortunately, I have another very good offer pending from a reputable U.S. company. I am in a bit of a quandary as the U.S. job is a sure thing, but doesn't pay as well...while the Aramco job is a risk (physical, investigation, etc) but pays very well. Of course I would prefer the Aramco position, but the risk involved stokes much anxiety. The risk I am referring to lies with the physical exam and the background investigation (BI). I have a fairly good grasp of the physical exam thanks to this forum, but I can't find many details regarding the background check. What does it entail? I assume a thorough criminal background check is performed as well as degree verification - all things I have been through before. If this is all, I don't see a problem, but does the BI go beyond this? For example, someone mentioned to me that a credit check is performed - will this be an impediment to employment? Any information you can provide about the BI will me most appreciated.
