Hi, I'm wondering what the libraries are like within the Aramco communities. It's my understanding that there are 15 of them. Do most families visit them? Do they have alot of up to date materials? Technology?

There is a library on RT, I'm sure they are on all the camps. We have computers to use and story time for the little ones.

I was pleasantly surprised with the technology and content of the Dhahran community library. New les come in all the time, and there is quite a selection of books, newspapers/periodicals, videos, etc. The computer study room is popular, as is the children's room. There are sections of the library designated for Arabic and English language publications. You can request and renew books online. For me, the size of the community library is on par with a neighborhood branch library in a typical US city.
For children, there's a really nice selection of non-fiction and fiction les, in a kid-friendly room just for them. Also, the library shows children's movies in a little conference room, and this is a popular activity, especially since there aren't that many movies just for kids at the theater each month. For older children, there are sections marked for young adults, so they can find something fast.
If you're an avid reader, there are numerous self-directed book clubs, whereby residents get together in small groups and meet in each other's homes. Kindle is the more popular means for this activity.
