Since the process of being hired by ARAMCO is time consuming and somewhat unpredictable in terms of time duration, I would appreciate some guidance as to when is best time to give notice to the current employer. In other words, when during all this process, one is certain that the job offered by ARAMCO is concrete and is not going anywhere. Thanks as always.

Do not quit your job until you have cleared everything: BI, medical, kids accepted in schools, etc. only then do you know you will be coming. Aramco will work with you on timeline so you can give notice.

Your relocation advisor will send you an email that you have cleared all conditions set forth in your conditional offer and give you the OK to resign from your current employer.

You don't resign until your processor advises the visa is stamped in your passport.

this is a very tricky issue to manage given the lengthy and uncertain hiring process you already mentioned .
I plan to submite my resignation early next week as got the visa stamp in my passport last Friday. I have already had a friendly conversation with my line-manager few weeks and signalled to him that I could leave my current job and worked with him on finding appropriate replacement. The good thing is that this early conversation triggered a series of other conversations and promotions, salary rises and other employee retention aspects.
So the bottom line here is, do not resign unless you have the visa stamp in your passport.
