I heard rumors said that there is potential of losing valuable items during ground shipping. Wonder how serious is it? Also, did any one lost items in the flight luggage? We have some valuable cosmetics, clothes and shoes. Wonder how can we get them safely transport to KSA?

Whenever you move items internationally, there is always a potential for loss. There are cases of lost luggage and stolen items in almost every airport in the world, from time to time. I personally have never heard of anyone losing items from their flight luggage when coming into the Kingdom but that's not to say it doesn't happen.
There appears to be an issue where items from your surface shipment are sometimes "lost" during customs checking. Sometimes they end up in someone else's shipment (it can be worth checking with other people who arrived around the same time as you) but how widespread this is, is difficult to tell. Anecdotal evidence would seem to indicate it is fairly common to have one or two items that either get lost or damaged during shipment.
YMMV

Our shipment should arrive at the end of June, so I can't help with that yet. We packed 13 bags/boxes/kennels to bring with us (family of 3 and 2 pets). Anything a that was valuable I put into a carry-on. Purses, electronics, elry, baby book, and so on. Nothing was removed from any of my boxes, but two of them were searched in the US. You hope that nothing goes missing, but just don't take a chance and pack any sentimental or valuable things in your checked bags. When we arrived, all of our luggage was in a huge pile and we had 6 guys helping us move everything! Only one box was opened at the check point, because we had put all our DVDs into a case. I guess he wanted to make sure it was all censored. So, even with that much stuff, nothing went missing. Good luck, if you have any other questions PM me. Liza
