We would like to have the option to deliver our baby in the US and we have been told that it is possible under the health insurance that we purchase through Aramco.
Has anyone delivered in the US recently and do you remember what the out-of-pocket costs were?

We were thinking of doing the same with our next baby...
Does anyone know how Aramco works with leave time, etc? (would I have to take vacation and induce or have a C section, or could I secure a last minute leave if she went into labor early).
Are there any rules from the airlines I need to know about for late term pregnant women flying? (ie, would we have to fly her over at 7 months or some such).
And while Im sure its up to the doctor, is there a standard age when babys can safely travel back?
Thank you

The airlines don't have a rule about pregnant women, that's a doctor/medical thing. I believe it is at the 7 month period, but the doctor will know for sure. If there are medical issues, it could be sooner.

Thanks for the replies. That is very very cheap compared to our health insurance by my current US employer. Our baby deliver in 2009 (Houston) costed approx $3,000 USD, if not more.

My friend delivered in TX last year, and she said it cost her about $200 with the insurance through Aramco.
As for travelling, it's recommended that you get a doctor's note if you're planning to fly after 32 weeks gestation. I know for Saudi Airlines, they want the doctor's note, and you can pick up the form from their office. You have to see the doctor within a week of flying.

On a fairly quick and unscientific check of various airlines, it seems the majority require signed permission from a doctor, issued within a fairly short period before the flight for anyone in the later stages of pregnancy (the exact requirements vary from airline to airline).
A fairly significant minority of airlines do not have a fixed requirement.
