I don't know, almostcheerful, you seem to be moving relatively fast. We (spouse) applied at the end of March 2012 and still has yet to get an interview. Granted, its in a different field than yours, but still, we'd love to hear something besides the canned "we got your resume and application" e-mail :?

How long on avee does it take to get a formal (written) offer? I received a verbal offer (which I accepted) but am now waiting on a written offer.

Timelines varies; however usually 1-2week required to prepare the offer package. Mine got one week. Good luck

I agree with lexington that I am bit lucky that my process is going very smooth so far compare to others (Alhamdulillah). I also noticed that the job, I've applied has been removed from the SA job posting. I've good news to share that I got cleared from my BI and medical questionnaire and now in the Visa processing stage.
We are now waiting on Visa medical forms and after medical test completion passports will be submitted to KSA embassy in Canada here are updated details of my timeline:

Date Applied: April 05, 2012
Interviewed: April 26, 2012
Orientation: April 26, 2012
Email intimation of passing interview: May 04, 2012
Pay Stubs: May 05, 2012
Job Offer: June 04, 2012- (Suggested flying date Aug 10, 2012)
Medical/BI Checks: in process since July 09th
Medical/BI Checks Completed: July 18th, 2012
Visa Medical process: Waiting on forms/package.........

Wow you guys are lucky... congrats. My BI has been in Saudi Arabia since June 12th and still no news. My relocator called today to tell me that she emailed them to rush the application.
It is funny how things work... people who applied 2 months after me finished 3 weeks before me... i guess it has to do with housing and vacations now...
