My husband got an email from ASC asking him to pick a day to be interviewed by video conferencing, for a job at Saudi ARAMCO. He replied to this email, confirming the day and time that suits him. We haven't heard anything from ASC since. He had picked 5/7 Mon. so now what shud we expect? Will he just get the call on Mon. or does it mean they have changed their mind and r not interested? Also, he had applied to several positions so it wud've helped to know which position they wanted to consider him. Did any one in the forum have such an experience? Thanks

While my husband was flown to Houston for the actual interview and orientation, we had the spouse orientation done via videoconferencing. It was not through Skype, but rather throuth WebEx online meeting software. Prior to the meeting, they sent us a Word file with login instructions and a screen capture. I'm glad I tested it beforehand, because we were missing a plugin or whatnot, and I had to spend a deal of time fiddling with it in advance of the video call. Not sure if they use WebEx just for orientation, or if they also conduct interviews with this same software. Skype would have been a lot more user-friendly, to be sure. The orientation included staff in Houston and Dhahran, so probably WebEx has functionality that works better for business video calls with multiple parties, I don't know.

Regarding Video Conference, I experienced this few weeks ago. ASC called me to schedule the interview and asked for my address so that they could choose closest available commercial conference call center. Mine was in downtown. I went there 15-minutes earlier so that I could learn the procedure. It was really simple and I did not have to even push a on to initiate the conference call. The video conference went well without any issue. I am still waiting for further response from ASC.

Hi TeemMom,
I hope you are well,
I had a teleconference with Aramco last year. They will send a link or an e-mail detailing the location and what to do. The one I did is purely technical and there were 7 people 2 of them were Saudi managers. The rest mixed westerners and from the Middle Eastern.
The interview was positive and they discussed every technical aspect of the position.
Good luck to your husband and all the best,
Kind Regards,
The New

Thanks The New, really appreciate everyone taking time to reply. When u say "detailing the location" u mean website or web location, right? It will be helpful if u could post some sample questions, discussed at the interview, irrespective of the job le. Also curious about the nature of technical questions. Thanks again.

Hi TeenMum,
I meant by that the physical location; this was a commercial video conference room. Aramco HR, in my case, sent the address and I have contacted them to organize the timing. The interview took about an hour and a half.
Regarding the type of the questions; it was a normal technical interview and below are some examples of the questions:
Talk about yourself. In your CV; you state XXXX; please elaborate about it. In your YYYY position, how did you handle xxxxxx. What was the nature of your position in x company and y position? In case we have YYYYY, what would you do and what is your recommendation? From your experience about ZZZZ, can you recommend AAAAA? Why? Which technique(s) would you use to get better results of zzzzzz. Which tool(s) have you used to overcome this BBBBB problem. Have you used x, y and z software(s) and have you compared the results (outputs) from each one. Which one gives you a better solution and do you trust these results. How many papers did you publish, and in which journals. Are you able and willing to publish your results? What is your notice period?
I hope this helps,
Once again good luck,
Regards,
The New
