I've just been hired as a Mooring Master / Harbour Pilot and I will work and live at Ras Tanura with my wife and five year old son that is going to scholl next September but he doesn't speak english. Is there any teacher or parent that can help answering to my doubts?

You are in luck. RT schools are the home of the largest ESL program in Aramco. Your son will do well.

Thank you vpainter, he already has some notions of english but he only speaks portuguese. We would like to know what other parents or teachers can say about this...

Is that right? I didnt know.....I am a new hire assigned to RT as an ESL teacher. Orientation next week.....so shouldnt be too much longer.
I really hope its a good place to work and live...... 8)

Welcome to RT!
9 months of the year its wonderful!
Beach, parks, playgrounds, pools, splash fountains, sports, great place for the family.
June, July, and August can be rough the first time, but most of the rest of the year this is a very nice place to live.

o CMartins, We will also arrive shortly (my husband is travelling June 15 and we will follow when family visa is ready). We will also live in RT and have a 5 year old son, maybe he will be in the same class as your son. My son´s first language is Spanish so I guess they will be able to communicate somehow  ) I hope we can meet soon, I guess I just wanted to say o... Maite |

Just hired as a Harbor Pilot and received my Contingency Email on Friday - sounds like there will be a few new pilots at RT ! My wife and I should arrive early August (not ideal, I know) . We are travelling from Scotland - looks like we have a choice of flights to Dammam via Dubai and Doha. Any advice on the best time of day to arrive at Dammam and avoid long queues? Choices are 1400 or 2200 by the look of it.

Great to see two Harbour Pilots here, I already have a colleague from Lisbon Port working in RT since December with another three Europeans and I think we will be ten by the end of the year. I also can't help you with the flight times, we are flying KLM from Lisboa to Dammam on the end of the month but I still don't have the flight details.
