Thanks Buster, you are right, I do not even think of the west coast unless the post states they are going to the west coast. Thank you and others for your input on living/working on the west side of KSA.

I do not have pictures for Yanbu.
You can google International Schools Group Saudi Arabia and see if there is a school in Yanbu and what curriculum it is. Also do a search for schools in Yanbu, KSA.
Yes, you will probably wear an abaya when going into the local community.

oh dear - what a headache this company is. I believe the global manual in terms of the rental assistance says; "The allowance consists of 2 components; 1) Three months base pay as an unaccountable component..... 2) ....an accountable payment....up to the lesser of the actual rent or manximum allowance..." It is confusing, as it is not clear if the 2 are additive or supplementary.... I assume 2) represents the max possible, as stated previously by Grovewanderer (unless your base is >SAR 58,333! - for married no kids)
So if I was on US12k (SAR 45k) base (not base+overbase), I should get SAR135k to do whatever I like with. If I get a receipt, then I can access in total, US46k (SAR175k) if I'm married with no kids. But I just changed from married to bachelor! Aaaarrrggghhhh! I was hoping for my wife to spend 6 months in Saudi with me, off camp. So now I only have US36k to play with! Oh well - bachelors get a good deal, so what's 10 grand.....
Can someone confirm my logic pleasssse?

sss,
No, Aramco does not provide housing or school allowance to US payroll, US employees MUST live on company property. If US employees wish to send their children to another school other than the company one provided then it must be at the employee's own expense.
The school / housing allowance is (US) taxable which might be why, or it might be for some other reason.

While it is true that it is not in policy for a US payroll employee to get Rental Assistance Allowance (RAA) as with almost everything, there can be out-of-policy exceptions. I have known US employees who were able to request (and were granted) out-of-policy approval to get the RAA. I am not aware that any of these people were given EAP (schooling allowance) but then again I don't think they had any eligible children.
