I will be moving soon. I read many posts about what to bring. Thanks. A great wealth of information. I want to ask a similar question with a different spin. I am bachelor and will be moving my household goods. I currently am at least 2000 pounds away from the allowable maximum limit. I thought a good idea me to buy a few larger 110V items or any other items for that matter, to put with the shipment. Not sure if my intent would be to use the items. Worst case scenario would be for me to sell the items on the Company Classifieds brand new in box.
Is this a stupid idea? Please comment on the list. I would like to develop a list. Can you help me develop a list of more expensive items that would sell if I don't use them
Vacuum cleaner Microwave Gae door opener George foreman grill Fancy coffee machine Cordless phone system Video gaming system
Not sure if the list below is a good idea: Washer/dryer Refrigerator Television Computer

Any of those would sell. Refrigerators with icemakers might sell, even though the company provides a refrigerator.
TV might not be a good idea unless it was multi-system. TV is PAL here, U.S. is NTSC.
You may or may not be able to get the price you wanted depending on what you're asking.

I also want to take as much as possible, although I have heard prices are comparable to here. An added problem is that appliances here are all 240 vt.
How would my guitar amplifier go through an adapter on 220 vt? I assume it wouldnt work on 110 vt. I am not an electrician though.

Bring as many 110 items as you can as most of the houses here are wired 110, but most stores dont carry many 110 appliances.
The TV may not work for some services here, but it can be used for Apple TV, or simply to hook up to a video game system, DVD player, etc. (Ive heard some Dreamboxes work with US TVs but havent tried it yet).
