o everyone,
Is there any UK expats who work as an Administrator or Secretary in Saudi Aramco, whom could answer some questions for me?
I have an interview at the end of April, and just want to know how likely it is to be successful. Particularly since I am over 40 and do not hold any formal qualifications beyond A'levels.. I do have over 20 years administration/reception experience in various sectors but not in Oil/Gas sector.
My journey to London will take 4 and half hours each way, so would like to think I have a fighting chance before I start.
I feel if successful it would be an amazing opportunity and I am very excited by it..
Thank you
Susanna

HI Suzanna
My experience - I was 46 when I came here as a secretary. Even though I had 20+ years experience, like you I did not have any formal qualifications. Aramco required me to complete a secretarial course at my own expense. It was a 2 day course, really just to get a piece of paper. I think this was a requirement for the visa (from Australia anyway).
Good luck. Teebee

o ladies I too just had an interview at the end of April in London for a secretarial role and am now (somewhat impatiently) waiting for a 'yea' or 'nay'! I was told that I would probably receive notification within 2 weeks but having read various posts on this forum - I'm not convinced I will hear back so quickly Lets hope we all hear something soon - good luck and I look forward to meeting you all when we start our new adventure in Saudi!

Hi
Sorry for all the questions I just wanted to do some research as i would love to work for Aramco in a secretary position. I am used to travelling and working abroad too and the job and lifestyle sounds great from what i've read on here.
I am a 34 year old male and although not a secretary as such, I have worked for the MOD for 12 years in HR/Admin doing general admin/PA type stuff/typing letters/reports/taking minutes/arranging travel/payroll etc. I don't have any formal qualifications except for an NVQ level 2 in administration. I was just wondering what type of courses Aramco made the people with no experience do, as I have searched online and am not really sure what would be suitable.
Also what are the time frames if you get a job offer would you be given a start date as my current job I would ned to work possibly 12 months notice, although I could probably get away with 10 months maybe less.
How often is the recruiting carried out, I have noticed Aramco will be at the office show in London in September and thought this may be a good event to attend?
Thanks in advance for all your help
Chris

Hi Im about to have an interview with SA in September 2012. Can anyone give me an indication of the interview itself. What are they actually looking for in Secretaries and what questions will they ask? Im fully qualified with a Degree in Business Management and Legal Secretarial qualifications. Thanks so much, Alexis
