My iPhone 4 is unlocked, just wanted to check if prepaid/pay as you go micro sims are readily available? I don't want to take out a contract. Will I be able to purchase one on the Dhahran compound or do I need to wait until I can get to a mall? Otherwise I'll bring a cheap standard sim phone from home but I'd rather use my iPhone day to day if I can.

I dont know if ones are readily available but I bought myself a micro sim cutter that came with 2 micro sim card adapters (incase I ever switch phones that use the regular sim card size sims.) I did it myself and it wasn't risky or hard  (and its always handy to have around incase you have multiple sims) Amazon sells micro sim cutters for 4 dollars. |

During your orientation day, you will be taken to the STC shop on the compound to sign up for a mobile service. Prepay is available. I'm not sure if they have micro sims readily available, but if you get a normal sim, there are shops in the malls that will convert it to fit your iPhone (this is what I did). You are able to top up your prepay at the commissary (supermarket on camp).

Yes, the prepay microsim is readily available. Just ask for a microsim when you register your prepaid lines and you're good to go.

It's easy to trim a sim card into a micro-sim using a scissors (videos on youtube). I did that recently with my t-mobile sim card when I bought an unlocked iPhone as well. By the way, are new employees provided with a blackberry/smartphone?
