We have been offered family housing in Abqaiq and my wife has a few questions? Social clubs/activities - what type and how many Is there any pollution from the nearby plant Aerobics classes for ladies - yes or no How big is the yard? Are cats safe or do they wander How long do the summer sand storms last for Can you play western style (modern) music outdoors (in the yard) TV and DVD - obviously censored but genteel stuff is allowed right? Do the girls go to the beach on their own (40 miles away) What happens during the traditional winter party time? (Christmas)... I would appreciate some further insite to Abqaiq other than the company issued materials. Thank you!!

I can answer generally:
Yes there are social clubs and activities in ABQ.
Cats do wander, some people build a higher section onto their fence, so their cat doesn't wander, others build up and put a cover on their backyard, some let their cats wander.
Summer sand storms are different each year, they can last for a day or they can last several days, there can be one come in or there can be several come in following right behind each other. One year it felt like the schmals (sandstorms) were in for about 6 weeks. But that was not the norm.
Yes, people play music in their backyards, according to what they like, so yes you can play your western/modern music. Of course most people are considerate of their neighbors with how loud they play their music. Invite them over if you'd like, they won't mind a bit.
There are several satellite TV companies: OSN (you can look at it on the web) and StarWorld to name a couple. - not censored - if you're a parent, you'll want to monitor what your children can see on TV.
Whether or not your girls go to the beach alone would be your personal choice. Aramco provides bus service to the beach - Aramco ID needed for the bus, which they'd have. I personally wouldn't allow my children to go by themselves, but again, its a personal choice.
There are parties during the winter holiday time.
Also, you may want to PM or email one or all of these users who have gone to ABQ:
bs0326; kjamaludin; mancunian; speedy; Mrs. Khan; mideastmedic; pvk; abu_nawaf; vegemite; mayfly76
Also if you will do a search on the forum for ABQ and Abqaiq you'll be able to read posts written about ABQ.

Please answer regarding Abqaiq: How long is the drive from Abqaiq to the Dhahran main campus? How big is the Abqaiq campus? How far is the residential campaus from the plant? Is there bus available between AB campus to other campus (Dhahram, RT)? How often? -Lasam

I can answer a couple of your questions:
The distance between ABQ and DHA is about 45 mins to 1 hour.
Yes there are Aramco buses that go between camps throughout the day, everyday. Including ones who work and live in different camps: buses for employees to get to work on time and return home at the end of the day .
