Hi,
I was first contacted by the company in July 2011 by a recruiter. I was then interviewed in August and turned down in September. Then later, in a business meeting with one of the interviewers he asked of the processes progression. I told him I was rejected and he was surprised, a few weeks later I was contacted again for a 2nd interview. Then in January I was informed of an impending offer, received the offer and discussed with the recruiter. There was an error in the offer and he told me not to sign it and that a new offer would be forthcoming in a week...well we are into the ~4th week and still no new offer...Is this normal? The initial letter indicated an arrival date that is now looking to be unachievable...
Once the offer is received, how long is the remaining process?
Appreciate any feedback, thank you.

Your timeline can be normal, especially if someone went on vacation.
the process after the offer is "patience required" It can be from a month to a year.
I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but the process is different for everyone.
I hope yours is on the shorter time line.

I was interviewed in late September through videoconference, thought the interview went quite well, but still haven't heard back. I haven't got a rejection letter yet. Should I still hold out any optimism? Are offers sometimes made months and months after the interview?

yes, I have one friend who received his offer a year after he applied. The time schedule between applying, interview, offer is very variable and can move very fast in a matter of days, or can move very slow or anywhere in between.
patience is the key, Good Luck!

Patients is the key...absolutely! 4+ weeks later the "same" offer was returned to me...the recruiter mis-informed me of what was approved and what was not...OH well, I am not concerned, can deal with that as time goes on. So now, I have finished the mass of paperwork for the BI and Medical and completed the orientation and Visa Medical all for more waiting... 4 to 6 more weeks and I should hear if the BI is satisfactory, not sure how long the Medical will take to process but will hear within those 4 to 6 weeks for the BI. Funny thing is, is once this is all done, I am told that it can be a further 3 to 6 weeks to wait for the Visa and this too is not a guarantee. With all that said, this process has been quite interesting, I am learning to deal better with the uncertainty issues and exercising patients. The whole group at the ASC are relatively understanding, only one issue, but not one that cannot be overcome...They are all really busy and this process (accepted or not) has been enlightening. I am hopeful that I am excepted and will be there soon and from what I understand, as are the management team I will be working with. Exciting times!

o again,
I am still having issues with the ASC. I am of the opinion that the delays are caused by the ASC in my situation. If they email me, I provide a response within 12 - 24 hours. On the other side, I have completed the BI and Med all is passed and I am now to be in the visa process phase. The ASC asked me to contact them immediately to go over details and I did so, the relocation advisor, told me that the Visa Medical info for my wife would be forthcoming and the Visa application process could begin immediately and that she would send me the details. This is now 2 weeks ago and still not a word. I feel that when I call to inquire, they then just move me to the bottom of the pile. It is now over a year since they (recruitment personnel) contacted me to apply for a position in Aramco. Does anyone know if it is possible to speak with a management person at ASC to provide feedback on this now very painful process. I must say that my dealings with both recruitment and relocation have been less than satisfactory. How can the process be improved?

Sounds terrible... hope it gets better for you soon.
And I definitely hope it goes different when it's my turn.

Things work differently here. It does not work like other countries. Also ASC gets the same vacation as those in kingdom which affects timelines. The process to come to work for Aramco is a process requiring patience. Since KSA has only 3 work days that correspond to work days in the rest of the world things proceed at a different pace.
For most, the wait is worth what is gained with employment.

Thank you for the reply, I do understand the "patients" factor. I do hope that the end will justify the means... reading other posts, I think it will.
