Hi everyone!
My husband has been told by the recruiter at Aramco that an offer should be here any day. We are hoping to get it today, this has been a long process. He was first contacted back in September. Been flown to Bahrain once and Houston once. Assured the offer is coming, needing 1 signature. I am so excited and nervous at the same time.
I have read so much on Saudi and learned a lot from the forum, so thank you all. They have said they want us there by April, but it doesn't sound like that is a reasonable timeline from what I have read. We are supposed to go to Houston on Thursday to do some orientation thing.
We have a 5 month old boy and I am excited to meet other moms. Are there many young children on camp? We would be in Daharan. My husband and I are both avid theater people. We love to act and sing. I heard that the theater there is great, so that is exciting news. We also love to travel and are excited about being so centrally located.
I guess I am just making this post to introduce myself! My name is Liza, my husband is Milton, and our son is Ryder.
I am thinking about finish my degree online while we are there. Has anyone had any experience with that?
Also, they have told us we will be in executive housing. I did see in another post someone said it is just the same as regular housing. That is fine with me, I just am curious if there is any executive housing. We are living in a very small house (800 sf) right now so I think anything we get will be a nice change. The past 10 months we have been living on my families ranch in the middle of Texas. The weather is pretty darn hot, but not as humid, but at least it won't be as much of a shock. This summer it was 100+ for 60 days in a row.
We are going to ship all of our stuff over. Is there anything that I should buy extra of? And once we get the date set, I would be happy to pack and bring anything that anyone else might need from the States.
