Shab786, yes there is an orientation for you as well. Your husband can sign you up online. It is through the Community Services Office.

You should contact the Housing Office when you arrive and they will give you a camp tour. Also they mother/baby groups so go to the Community Care Center in the Al Mujamma Building and they will give you info.

There are different rules for different nationalities. From Australia you cannot travel as a family group. Wife and kids must come later

We came in the middle of ramadhan and still got our iqama in 2 wks after we arrived, 3 days after blood drawn. Then exit visa take about a week after that.
We're glad we all came together. My husband got into a project right a way and he had to put overtime for many weeks right after he arrived. If we didn't came with him, he wouldn't have time to take care or house stuff anyway or had to take time off work. There are quite few things to take care of and we had to call maintenance few times to get things fix and gardening stuff and I can't imagine if my husband has to take care of all this. Summer was quiet but nice to go to pool since it's not crowded. Once everyone arrived from repat, we hardly go to pool anymore since it's just too packed.
Housing-wise, I won't be too worry which house you get because I've found +s and -s from each house I've visited here.

My husband left Sydney in late August and we joined him in late December. It took him almost four months to sort the paperwork in KSA.

I have a quetsion. If you choose delayed family option and get your kid in a boarding school in US (we US citizens) will your EAP be only approved after your spouse lands in KSA? Or it starts from the day you board the flight to KSA?

You will be unable to apply for EAP until your wife is in KSA.
