So .. I'm leaving the UK next week. Maybe there will be some replys before I go to this question of mine about bikes. I would love to bring a ladies road bike to Dhahran but I do wonder about how much use I'd get out of it given the heat. Do people really ride bikes in 120 degree heat? If not .. I guess the bike will just be blocking up my flat for most of the year. What do you think .. bring the bike or leave the bike. :?: kindest regards An English Secretary.

You get a lot of use if you ride it. I see a lady friend of ours riding her bike everyday to work.
This morning it was 68*F and this evening it was in the 80*F's. You'll enjoy riding at least 8 of the 12 months.
So if you enjoy riding, bring it!

Bring your bicycle - it's not that easy to purchase good quality ones here (though it is possible). It's not like the UK where you have plenty of shops to choose from

Bring the bike. As mentioned by buster, there is limited choices here and Yes, people bike even in 120 degree temperature.

Bring your bike - it is a great way to get around camp, and there are only a couple of months where it is too hot. Bike are available, but they are either really cheap or really expensive. You might also bring a couple of inner tubes (they use presta valves here/Europe and schrader in North America), a good quality patch kit, and maybe a tire pump (new ones are dual presta/schader).

o
Yes do bring your own bike and believe me you will be thankful that you did. I left mine behind and it has taken me a long time to find the bike I was looking for - poor choice in Saudi for a real woman's bike - mostly bikes for girls but not much in the way for us women - and as other posts have said many people peddle here - a great way to keep fit and to enjoy the winter months here and remember to pack your helmet as well!
Good Luck Carolina
