Hi,
This is a very good and informative forum regarding life while working for the aramco i have few inquiries i hope you guys will be able to shed some light on it
I have an interview for family physician post .I have contact the aramce consultant based here in london but they are bit vague about it .The only thing that they told they are looking for somebody to work at albaiq which i think is a small place. My son has Autistic spectrum disorder but he goes to main stream school and thanks to he i think is high functional. My question is are there any school who can cater his needs and how are the facilities in albaiq.
They said they give compepive salary but does any body know or has friends who are working as family physician in aramco. I do hold royal college membership and has done few diplomas.I and my family is looking for change so i can spend sometime with family.
Thanks

Good news and bad...
Abq is a small place, and Aramco generally does not provide accommodations for special needs kids. Im not sure if its available nearby, but generally not available through Aramco.
As to working as a doctor here, most of the ones I know in RT are very happy. They pay isnt always more, but the lack of taxes helps a ton, and they only work a fraction of the time they had to back home.
My main reason for coming here was family time. I took a side step in pay and my wife no longer works. With the lack of taxes and drop in cost of living we actually keep a lot more of our money. The only problem is Im home so much now sometimes I think my wife looks forward to me going to work lol.
Good luck to you

I had a friend who was in Dhahran about 8 years ago and their daughter had autistic tendencies (there was a name for what she had, but I don't remember it) but able to function in a regular classroom and was allowed to come. They are no longer here, so cannot ask them.
You will need to submit documentation from the school showing your son is functioning in a regular classroom. The school administration will determine if they can meet his needs.
bless!

Looked into this myself. Basically if your child can function in a normal classroom with nothing more than minor adjustments then the school can accommodate. If not the only school that could cater for their needs (assuming you want western level of special needs schooling) is in Bahrain.
