Hi, I am from Canada, but do NOT have a CAD Drivers License (DL), and have a DL from Asia, my last assignment and that country is NOT on the DL conversion list - does anyone know what I do next? I have made the appointment in Dammam DL office and will give them my documents, maybe they will issue me a DL based on my CAD passport and that i have been driving for 40 years, so dont have to go to driving school. However, does anyone know will the DL government office tell me if i have to go to DL school, or should I just go to the DL school (Sharq) in Damman and see what they sayj - I want to avoid classes and a test, I m too seasoned for that, is there any way around the driving school or do I have to do the min course (2+2+2 hr @ 690 SAR) to get the privilege of getting a KSA DL? Any tidbits will be helpful, as I need to get my DL fast and my government appointment is in 30 days, but do NOT want to be told at that appointment in 30 days, that I have to go to DL Sharq school thus losing 30 days j- did that make sense? Thanks.

Thanks. Since you don't have an eligible license for conversion, you will have to book an assessment. Based on your skills, they will allocate you to certain number of classes. Clear your written exam and final practical exam to get ksa license |

Hi, thanks so much. Who does the assessment, that is the part I am confused on. I have my DL appointment at Dammam driving school but the driving school is Sharq driving school which is the actual dl school, so confused here...The gov't appointment I got off absher says dammam driving school, but its the goverment office and the driving school sharq is the dl school - confused. So, who does the skill assessment the driving school or some person behind the desk at the goverment office appointment I have say what dirving school classs I need to do or??? confused still...

Dammam/Sharq are all in the same place, go and ask them want you need to do. They are very helpful.
