o, I gave an interview at Aramco Singapore office on 18th December 2023. Got a call back from the HR on 20th saying i was selected and requested me all my documents from pay slips, degrees, passport, license etc and a number of forms to be filled up. All forms were provided by me on the 21st Dec 2023. Also, I flew to singapore from Australia for the interview and got clear information on travel costs reimbursement that my travel expenses would be reimbursed within 30 days.
Come January 15th 2024, my profile on aramco careers shows “we will contact you as soon as possible with our offer for you” and i get an email from the HR to fill out a background screening application. From then onwards, i havent heard anything back and niether have ai received my offer. Its been nearing 2 months from Jan 15 until now , i havent had any contact from aramco singapore, no offer yet and the status on my profile still shows the same. is it normal for the offer to take this long? Its been almost 3 months since the interview. Also, the background screening company Credence from UK asked me my current employment details such as my mamagers contact, current company HR contact, pay slips, degree, university professors contact details as well as university contact details to verify my degrees. I would have thought background screening would take place once i get and accept the offer. I just hope they dont contact my current employers before i get the offer let alone accept the offer as i havent informed them anything about me applying for Aramco. Is this normal for background screening to happen before getting the offer.
Regards

It is absolutely normal for the offer to take a few months or more, it’s also normal for the background to be started at the same as intention to offer because that also can take months, they are trying to speed up the process. There’s an option to say not to contact current employer, did you indicate that?

Good to hear that things are progressing at your end. I also had to fly to Singapore for the interview and fingers crossed. I am hoping that it will be fine. How long it takes to get a reimbursement?

You'd be surprised I've just battled for 3 months to get overtime that was previously approved to be paid. Went all the way to director level and believe me, it was a fight to get them to honour the agreement. The level of penny pinching is terrible for one of the world's biggest companies.

The level of penny pinching is terrible for one of the world's biggest companies. Sounds terrible. Previously Petronas invited me for the interview in London when i was in Europe. They didn't reimbursed the airfare as the initially agreed and claimed it had been paid. They did the same to other candidates.
