Straight forward and tons of new employees do it all the time. Expect a 2 to 4 months from the time of u initial conversion from Bach to fam status to family’s arrival. The more u stay on top of process and push things along, the quicker it goes.

In my case I am planning to switch from family to bachelor as my family now decided to delay their move. Is the switch from family to bachelor also straightforward? Since I do not have enough time to switch before my relocation date, would it be possible to do it after I arrive there? I assume the switch is through HR over there?

If your family plans to arrive within 90 days of your arrival, you can remain on family status and keep your family house. If it’s beyond 90 days, then technically you’re required to change to bach and yes it’s straight fwd & easily can be done after you arrive. You’ll likely have to move from fam to bach housing and move back to fam house once your fam arrives. I don’t believe there is any reason for you to be in a rush to tell them u need to switch bach, if in fact, your family is arriving beyond 90 days.
