o kind hearted people,
I was recently interviewed to work as engineer with Aramco SMP. I am waiting for offer letter. I was informed that my work location is in jafurah and it is remote location. Its a single status but SMP will assist with the documentation for family visas.
Can someone please share with me which is the nearest city where my family can stay.
Also, how is the work life balance working for SMP.

Nearest town will be Hofuf which is decent enough to stay in for eastern expats I believe. That is around 1 to 1.5 hours' drive from Aramco camp in Jafurah.
But if you need to stay with your family in the city such as Dammam/Dhahran/Khobar where all the leisure places and big malls are located, being 150km form Jafurah site, you need to travel 2.5 to 3 hours one way.
May I know which SMP contractor you are engaged with? I recently received an offer on the spot right after an interview workshop and will be assigned in Jafurah also under UR dept.

Your duty will be 6 days a week. hence, seeing your family daily might not be practical. They will have to stay in the hafuf area, which is a reasonable distance away. your contractor will assist you in giving the required documents but you will have to pay for all expenses especially Iqama which is 400 SAR per person per month. On top, school fees and house rent. Given the salary they offer, consider all factors carefully.
