Apologises for so so many questions! How do they deal with orientation for UK candidates and spouses? Is it just online? And what stage do they do this? Many thanks again ☺️ I had my predeparture orientation online on Skype with my relocation advisor and my wife was there too. It was in the few weeks leading up to my departure from the UK. |

Same as Kyle, then the on-boarding that’s online/in person on arrival. Lots of reading material, handbooks and contacts.
For most of it you are dependent on your Buddy and who you meet, my husbands intake has a WhatsApp group where they pooled info, I got myself out to the coffees which then gets you added to the fb groups, the WhatsApp and just general phone numbers from other women.

How do you all cope with the summer heat? I’m thinking of the kids and their activities - are there indoor soft plays with AC etc? Many thanks I'd recommend leaving the Kingdom after the schools break up, most who can do this. The humidity in Dhahran is off the scale, even at night. It's best avoided. The camp becomes totally dead over his period in any case. Your kids will soon get bored of the limited indoor activities, there's only so many malls you can visit! |

Thanks @mcshane. How long do most leave for? I think I would feel bad leaving my husband for too long - although he may enjoy some peace and quiet at first (along with some golf I’m sure 🤣) - he would miss the kids!!

Thanks @mcshane. How long do most leave for? I think I would feel bad leaving my husband for too long - although he may enjoy some peace and quiet at first (along with some golf I’m sure 🤣) - he would miss the kids!! Most departments encoue a big summer annual leave, not unusual for the employee to be away for 4 weeks or more. |

My wife and kids leave for the month of July and return 7 days before the start of the next school year around the middle of August.

Does anyone know how many styles of 3 bed homes there are? From my research I can see there is the townhouse 3 bed that looks similar in RT and in the Hills in Dhahran? And the abode in the main camp which is older. Is that it? Where can I get further info ?

A variety of single storey up in main, houses and apartments in jebel heights. You can find a bit by googling but there isn’t much out there, you’ll get a floor plan along with your assigned home about a week or so before traveling. |

My husband fly’s out on 27 Dec. When is he likely to receive his first pay check please?
We are trying to work out logistics of when to get the movers in as think Pickfords want payment at time of booking. I know we will not get the shipping payment until he has arrived and applied for it.
