Hi, Just curious on salary negotiations. I recieve a monthly salary. However, other benefits/allowances at different points per year will be equal or even more than my annual salary. Allowance for security, car mtce, fueling, family support, and an opportunity to buy discounted company shares. Now, when they request for 2 pay stubs, these details will certainly not be captured. How then is this 'base', 'overbase', and monthly 20% supplement calculated? Are there usually allowances in the offer, including share options? Thanks for any response pls All circumstances are unique, but it is negotiable. I received an offer where the base was 5% lower than current base in UK, and approached them had a conversation about wife's loss income and the incentive of leaving a good job in a big IOC. They asked me to provide an email and explaining circumstances and they came back two days later with a 16% increase in base salary after asking them 20% and having 15% as the minimum in mind to offset loss of the annual bonus payment that I was due to receive in Mar-23 but forfeiting due to changing jobs. It is reasonable to negotiate a salary offer, however if asking more than 20% than initial offer is not realistic and it has low probability of success.

Tell them your current package and have a minimum number in your mind you are willing to accept. There are no share options/equity at Aramco, the bonus is low too compared to back home. You also won’t get a bonus until March 2024 if you join now, so do not factor this in to the Aramco package they try to oversell to you. Ditto the pension, it’s very poor deal.
It’s all about the tax free salary. If they don’t offer enough, negotiate. They will try to lowball you and there is pressure on hiring expats for as cheap as possible, from cheaper countries.
Don’t accept below what you want as it will only lead to problems when you get here, and you realise there isn’t much else beyond the salary…

I sent them an annual statement where all these type of payments where reflected. Also be prepared to negotiate as first offer is on the low side. Remember you got the levee until you sign the dotted line.

Super. Thanks pal. I work at an IOC and salary plus allowances are good. So was worried a low ball meant losing out. Did they match and improve your IOC salary? Thanks for reverting. I sent them an annual statement where all these type of payments where reflected. Also be prepared to negotiate as first offer is on the low side. Remember you got the levee until you sign the dotted line.

I was lucky to negotiate before the GBP crashed against the USD.

I was initially offered 5% less than my old base (net of taxes), which was pretty insulting. Who would move jobs for a pay cut??
I negotiated and got a decent uplift. Others have been told to take it or leave it. Depends on the job ladder, how much they like you and the grade code as to how much more they might offer.

It is really helpful; I have an interview ahead in three weeks. May I PM you if you don't mind?

o,
I got an offer for 16 years of experience, MA Ivy league school for Sc13 at the lowest point. It is a pity offer because I'm Global hire (third world). I spoke with my HR and asked her for a negotiation; she said yes.
My doubt is, in Silkroad, they marked me to accept or decline the offer in a couple of days, but if I'm in negotiations, should I ignore that task?

So I asked for over 25% increase on my base salary as my current salary isn't close to the market value. so I countered with what the current market value for my role plus some extra. They have came back with a 10% base increase, I have now countered to see if they can do a little better. so now it's a waiting game. I am in a same situation, do you have any update? Did they up their offer after your second counter? I was offered GC12. If you can pm me, that will be greatly appreciated.
propbably very late but would like to know how the negotation went ?
