First of all this is great forum and you guys are very helpful. I have accepted a job offer to work as a petroleum engineer. My question is do I need to get my BSc degree attested to register with Council of Engineers? I also have a MSc degree which will be used for visa process. Many thanks.

Yes, SCE only looks at your bachelor's degree. MSc can be used to secure visa but with SCE only Bachelor's count and needs to be attested by Saudi embassy. I hope the BSc. is four year duration.

If your job is "Engineer", then I believe you must join the Saudi Council of Engineers in order to progress the Iqama.
Cost for me was around 2000 SAR, and it was refunded through payroll. Pretty straightforward and done online. Complete the enrolment process and you will be given a Sadad reference to pay it.
The catch 22 was that it had to be paid through the bank, and without an Iqama you can not open a bank account! One of your colleagues should be able to pay it or probably you could pay it at one of the bank branches.

Hi Scorpio,
Have you received the written job offer? Is your role with Norther Area or Southern Area?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Scorpio et al - I have a similar situation like Scorpio. I got my MSc degree attested by SACB/SE UK, but not the BSc. Will it suffice or SEC would need my "Attested" BSc degree? Appreciate the help. TIA

Hi there, Just want to confirm is attestation by the Saudi embassy a requirement. My relocation advisor says its not and says I got my Saudi visa without degree attestation from Saudi embassy, which is true. My bachelors is from the US and she says that's one of the reason, the embassy trusts the background check done by Aramco regarding my education.
