I am a retiring USA Aramacon. Extensions were not available, so I opted for a conversion to SMP as a Plan B.
Rumor has it that US citizens have to bounce out (I already have my final exit visa) for a period of time whilst the Iqama sponsorship switches hands. I can't seem to get a straight answer on how long though.
Anybody got answers?

Unfortunately, no one will have an answer for you because the time line can cover a span of time. When sponsorships change pretty much everyone goes back to their home country. It can be as quick as 30 days or several months. Sorry, not what you wanted to hear, but like everything about how long, it fluctuates and no one can say for sure.
Best wishes for a short transition.

Thanks V. I know of some peeps that left as Aramacons with a "green" badge on a Thursday and showed back up on the following Sunday with a new "yellow" badge. I was just trying to confirm if it was US law, an Aramco rule, or just a rumor.
You rock this forum. I remember you back B4 I was even hired.
