Hi everyone,

Is it the normal procedure for the the applicant/employee to travel to Aramco first and then the family to follow once you have got their visa/iqamah?

Is it not possible for the family (wife and two kids) to travel with me at the same time on my first arrival to Aramco/KSA?

If the family must travel after I have arrived and I've sorted their visa, iqamah, housing and school, then roughly how long does that process take on avee (I appreciate it maybe like asking 'how long is a piece of string' but a ball-park figure would be ok taking into consideration housing and school availability both of which appears to be scares resources).

It is normal for an employee to come first then the family follow. You must arrive, get your resident visa and iqama and the you can start paperwork for the family to come. Time needed for that process can run from a week or two up to 3 or 4 months. Especially it will be slow if you arrive during Ramadan and Eid Holidays which is coming the end of May and June. Most I know, the family has arrived between 2 and 3 months later, but do know a few who it has stretched to 6 months.
Frustrating I know. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. I hope your process is timely.

Yes, it is perfectly normal that you should go first, and only then your family will go. This is a fairly old strategy that all States follow. The exception may be tourist trips or regular holidays and travel, then you can go at once with the whole family. Especially if you use services that provide travel to different countries. Using them, you can save a huge amount of time and money on paperwork, hotel search, route selection and other nuances. Well, I hope you get the point. Good luck with your trip!
