alomarym, Thats crazy! The health insurance and education costs would far out weigh the financial benefits! Do you know what project you are on? As a guy on my project brought his family out and has been sent to site at a remote location... leaving his wife and kids trapped in an apartment most of the time.
If you were direct hire then it makes sense to uproot your family and bring them out here. As a Contractor....

I don't think health insurance is very expensive. You can try searching for BUPA.
For schools, the price range is wide depending on what kind of school you want. For example, an Islamic International school (you can choose English or Arabic section) may cost around 15-20K riyals per year for 1st grade (some are less, some are more). Other International schools may cost up to 50-60K riyals per year for first grade. generally, each year costs a little more money...

Thank you all for your replies, from what i am reading look like it better to leave the family back in US and travel on single status. the cost for good schools and compound is high that will eat up all the allowance they pay. what is the cost for single to live in Saudi Arabia. knowing that i will have to pay for my accommodation.
My other question, does anyone knows Dhahran KAPSARC & Community Projects Dept. is it a good place to work in knowing i will be engineer III which i don't know what that is
Thanks in advance Moe

It looks like moving a family on this contract is not as good as i thought,
Is there a chance after working for a while as contractor to Aramco get a direct hire with them ?
Not sure if anyone knows what's Engineer III is ?
What is the Cost for single person ?
I would appreciate your advice as i need to decide if it good to take the chance or stay in US
Regards,
Moe

Contractually you are to serve 2 years as a smp until you can be considered, however this is aramco and they can do what they like... Engineer 4 = junior engineer engineer 3 = experienced junior engineer engineer 2 = experienced engineer engineer 1 = lobotomised engineer... (wait till you get here you will see)

alomarym,
Riyadh is a bit of a hot spot, so live in a secure compound with armed security, only venture out in groups never alone.
Make sure your agent has offered you a car in your job offer.
best of luck, be safe .
