I am looking to open an online brokee account. As a US citizen, I am finding that most firms require that I live in the US to open an account. Even opening an IRA is difficult. I was hoping to rollover my 401k into an IRA. Etrade won't do it, as an example.
Any suggestions for a brokee account that accepts US citizens living in Kingdom?

If you are still a US citizen with an address in US paying Federal and (maybe ) state taxes, you can set up an online brokee account with just about anyone. The fact you are in KSA working should not matter.

Last post on this thread is fairly old, so bringing it back to life.... Can you guys please share your experience with different brokees in Saudi? And if all of them allows you to invest in global markets specially US markets.
I currently trade/invest in stock market via my bank's brokee and IBKR. I'll be chatting with IBKR to see if there is a way to transfer my account or if I need to open a new account. I am planning to become non-resident of Canada for tax purposes, so trading/investing via my current account may jeopardize with non-resident status.

Sorry for late response. I ended up opening the account with IBKR here in Saudi . Transferring funds directly from Saudi bank account to Broker operating outside Saudi is a challenge.

The risk with keeping any capital in KSA is it can be frozen arbitrarily at any time, and if you do pass away whilst in kingdom it will be subject to Sharia law etc.
