Hi all,
A question. We have had a number of bulbs fail in the kitchen in our house on Rakah. I bought replacements but these didn't work because, according to the electrician, they were 220v and not 110v.
I would have thought that these would just have glowed a bit dim but I am no expert so, OK, fair enough. Does anyone know where we can get 110v bulbs? I have not been able to locate any and I figure this must have happened to someone else on one camp or another.

They are normally available at the onsite commissary.

Thanks Maursh, Well, that's news to me as I looked both in Rakah and Dhahran! I need to get my eyes tested then. I'll check again. Thanks.

They recently changed all the lights in all the houses in Dhahran to LED bulbs and guaranteed to replace them if they fail within the next three years. I would ask if they have any plans to do the same for Rakah. Otherwise, if you want to buy LED bulbs, I saw some in the Dhahran commissary the other day. I don't know what voltage though.

Thanks both.
I had a quick look in the Rakah commisary and Maursh is right. However, the bulbs we are looking for are (for Rakah residents) the ones over the breakfast bar which are of a particular face dimension and these weren't there. Similarly, the LED ones in Dhahran won't fit nicely either. I shall have to research further.
