Hi there,
I am also hoping to travel out from London to Dhahran in the coming months and looking for a recommended shipping company that offers a door-to-door service. I don’t have a huge amount of stuff, so was thinking of taking the cash in lieu and making my own shipping arrangements.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Petroarabian...I am currently in the same boat, I am relocating next month. We have hired Anglo Pacific to help us. We are not taking a lot, only about 6/7 boxes worth of stuff, its a heck of a lot cheaper than paying for additional baggage on the airlines.

If you're flying out from Canada, I know a great shipper based out of Toronto: shipment gets sent, when requested, via Turkish Airways.
I had a 100 kg shipment shipped over for about $800 CAD.

electeng, you can use any shipping company in Canada who will ship to Dammam, KSA. Bring your paperwork. You can the contact a shipping company here and they will clear your shipment through customs and deliver it to your home. These companies are listed in the Frequently Asked Questions Discussion Group.
