o, our expected residence is Abqaiq but husband works in UDH. Just visa stamping left. Wanted to ask you about current housing situation in UDH since we would like to be in UDH otherwise hubby has a looong commute. We expect to be there in 2 months time. also i had earlier been browsing abqaiq forum and life with kids there (the have a mum n kids playgroup) seemed to be nice does udhailiya have anything like that/ do mums have a coffee morning or something? we got 3 kids ages 4.5, 2.5 & 8 mths Any info would be appreciated because we would like to pursue it with our relocation personnel at the earliest Regards

There are plans to add 1500 bachelor and family housing units in Dhahran. Ras Tanura and Udhiliyah are also slated for housing expansions, but the extent of expansion is unknown. Site preparation is already underway in Dhahran (the dirt is already moving.)
The first of these units are to be constructed around the end of 2016 and more units will be completed after that. However, with the drastic drop in the price of oil, these plans could be altered, but let's hope not.

Yes, Udhailiyah has a playgroup that is almost every day. I think they don't have anything on Mondays. They have morning and afternoon times. Your 4.5 year old will be able to go to K4.
I don't know how long it will take to get housing in UDH. We actually still have some contractor families living in UDH still, but from what I've heard they will all be moving out. The contractor families that are here are trying to stay until the school year is finished, so I guess by the end of the summer a lot more houses will be available. Also, it depends on how fast the houses can be renovated.

Thanks for the info, we go to meet our reloc advisor tom at the aramco office to discuss it as our visa les here and will soon be getting our visas stamped *fingers crossed*
Just a quick question can we get organic stuff like eggs and chicken at the commissary ?
2ndly a request can i get house plans mailed to me to get an idea about room dimensions etc so as not to later regret any extra stuff we might get shipped ??
3rdly this reminds me w.r.t smaller appliances like oven, toaster & mixer should i bring in the 110v or get the regular 220v one ?? i keep these 3 items over counters all the time so need a clear idea abt the sockets on kicthen counter
TIA

Currently, there aren't any organic eggs or fresh chicken at the commissary. You may be able to request those items, and they will bring them if they're available.
vpainter can probably send you a floor plan for a 3 bedroom home.
Our kitchen only has one 220V outlet, so I would definitely recommend bringing 110V small appliances if you can. If you end up not needing them, then you can sell them.

Check wikimapia? if you zoom in to Udhailiyah you may see several areas (1 to 4) with designate number of unit (houses?)
