I think, the problem with the very clear answer is because it depends on the day. Some will, some won’t and it really depends on who deals with you. My husband did in camp and out of camp, no iqama for the first and iqama and no KSA licence for the second, but there are no guarantees. One thing that I know will be tricky, is driving from the airport for the first time and attempting to get onto the camp without proper camp ID for you or your car. You’ll be collected by someone from Aramco who will bring you in, and also help you get your sim. As a general rule nothing is clear in KSA. You need to readjust your mindset if you are to survive here more than a few months! Everything is fluid and the norms you expect in the West, do not apply. Customer service is a shambles. I couldn't get a SIM card at the airport when i first arrived as the 'system was down'. I noticed others in the line got theirs ok.... It was actually because they couldn't be bothered to make a telephone call to confirm a few things. I persisted and eventually got it after about an hour, but it was stressful and a c_rap way to start my time here. I now know that If I want anything done, find someone who has "wasta" who can help you, and it will be done quickly without fuss. Oh so true! I was given the advice there are times you will want to scream or choke someone. The first few months of getting your Saudi Council of Engineers, Iqama, bank account and drivers license are trying. Things will run smooth for a bit and then something else will come down the pike. Like the paint on your license plate gets faded from sand storms and you need to get them replaced by the traffic office / police station. Even taking a Saudi co-worker with me it was an hour ordeal, a co-worker went without a Saudi to translate and it took him three hours. Mind you, that was just to order to replacement plates, we still need to go back to pick them up and they are only open 8AM to 2PM. And they don't contact you to let you know your plates are ready, just hope after a few weeks they are.

I cannot walk to restroom, so car rental was mandatory 😀. Lumirental is the cheapest one, they have Aramco discount, use Aramco as a coupon name. 90 sat per day including all insurance with no deductible. Is there any website for Lumirental where I can book it?

I read all the messages but still it is not crystal clear that one can get rent a car or not? If yes, then from where either airport or in the camp or outside camp.... I expect a very clear answer... Thank you. I rented a car few days after my arrival from Budget in Khobar on my Canadian license. Inside camp you can get it from Samara, but it will be bit expensive compare to outside. Enterprise, Budget and others offer Aramco discount. Basic Sedan like Yaris etc will cost you around 2500 SAR with standard covee (after Aramco discount). If you want to get full covee I-e no deductible, that's extra 400-500 SAR. I hope this helps.

lumirental.com/en, I rent one week after the arrival with US driving license. You can get a car w/90 to 110 sar per day with having no deductible full covee insurance. I got a little SUV although i booked entry level car since they did not have any other vehicle available.

Yesterday I landed on Dammam Airport and got rent a car from Hertz based on my GCC driving license and credit card.... no issue at all
They just require an acceptable international driving license and a working credit card....that's it
