Hi guys, Had my interview at the start of month and received offer via recruiter last week. Aramco has requested payslips and proof of education etc. I asked about the job grade, no one seem to be able to tell me anything. Is this the norm? Also, can somewhere share the diff benefits between gc 10 and 11?

Main difference between GC 10 & GC 11 is access to some facilities (gyms, camps, housing etc) Don't get too hung up on it until you've seen what you get offered
The main thing that may affect your GC is the amount of experience that you have. Some of the senior guys from the UK have 15-20yrs experience in the sector. But again, don't worry too much until you see what your offer is
I actually received money from the tax man when I came here (which was a very pleasant surprise). Unless you fail your probation period or really don't like it here, it is very easy to complete at least one full tax year here
Good luck to all

Aramco has assigned every position le a GC. GC is mainly determined by what le/position you have applied for.

To return to the tax situation :
When leave the UK declare yourself as "full time working abroad" to HMRC. For the year you leave the UK you apply for "split year" tax, which means that up until the date you leave the UK you pay tax on your income. From the day you leave you are classed as working and living abroad. For the remainder of that year you can only return to the UK (on a pro rata basis) for 90 days (ie leave 1/2 way throughthe year you can return for max 45 days). The forms can be done when you leave, or at the latest when you submit your tax returns for that year. You will have to complete a tax return for each and every year.
For the next year you need to comply with the 90 day rule (assuming you keep the full time working abroad up), and you must complete a full tax year full time working abroad. If you return to the UK before the end of that 2nd year you will be liable for UK tax over the whole period. If you go beyond the 2nd, complete year you can then return to the UK on a split year basis from year 3.
There are other complications, but those are the basics. Keep all flight stubs, copies of entry/exit visas etc. One of the best methods of proving you were abroad to HMRC is to have a credit card / cash card which you use solely when abroad - the bills from that are proof that you were out of the UK. Just use it every other week or so.
One of the additional reasons to push for GC11 I would say would be the fact that at a later time you can bring your family across with you.

If you were talking about the difference between GC 11 and 12, or GC 13 and 14, I might agree. But the difference between GC 10 and GC 11 for a male employee is highly significant. In terms of Aramco life, it is "the great divide."
For males, GC 3-10 living, recreation, facilities access etc are much different to GC 11+. Anyone in GC 11 or above is enled to live in a family camp. GC 3-10's live in bachelor housing areas with a much lesser range of facilities.
Anyone in GC 11+ has the opportunity to bring their family to live with them, get their children's education either paid for or provided for free, they get medical care, travel payments and various other benefits for the entire family, and so on and so forth. A GC 10 gets none of those family-related benefits.
Being a GC 10 as opposed to 11 means living in an entirely different world. I speak from experience, as I have been in both situations. If it were me, I would seriously consider trying to obtain a GC 11 rather than a GC 10 position.
