Dear All
Is there any update on the issue of US employees living in Rakah moving to the Main Dhahran Camp?
We have received our visas now and planning our move in the next 6 weeks, we have a big question on shipping. Our relo adviser in Houston is silent on this issue and does not confirm. If we are to move to Main camp after a period in Rakah, we want to bring our furniture. can someone please update based on facts on the ground?
Also I read a post saying, consider bringing your furniture if you are US citizen and first assigned to rakah. If it is recomended to bring furniture, how long will Aramco hold the shipment in stoe? 3 months 6 months? Will the doing for free or we will have to pay?
Please advise, as we really in need for answers here.

Bring your furniture. When it arrives it will be delivered to your home wherever it is located. You will know when it is coming and you will arrange for Aramco Furniture Warehouse to come remove their furniture and you will have yours. There is no stoe. When housing becomes available in DHA, you would call Furniture Warehouse and schedule a move to your new house.
Yes, people are still moving to DHA from Rakah, but it is very slow. Housing is slowly becoming available, but must be renovated and then the moves are by the bid system. Date of arrival and GC are used to determine your points for the bid system. When house(s) are available, the bid list goes out to all who are eligible for that size house and all eligible employees bid on the house(s). The eligible person with the most points who has bid gets the house. Eligibility is determined by what GC and number of children are required to be assigned that particular house.
