Hi I am new here. I would like to know a few things should I take a position as a secretary at Aramco: 1. If you are a married woman coming to work at Aramco, are you coming on single or bachelor status? Is there a difference between the two? 2. Should I have my husband visit, would there be any restrictions, if so, what would they be? 3. As a married woman, do they still put you in the bachelor apartments or do you get the bachelor house? Are husbands allowed to visit and stay with you in the bachelor apartments? I look forward to your replies. Could you kindly email me your experiences being a married woman living on the compound and having your husband visit you. Have a lovely day!

1. Women are hired as Single status.
2. All employees who have visitors are required to do paperwork requiring approval signatures. One of those is a housing approval where housing approves your visitor to stay in your home. Also, the visa would determine length of stay.
3. Would depend on housing office approval. Housing is based on GC.

Some establishments do not take credit cards, others will take it and apply an upcharge for using one, others will take it.
If you have an account with checks, you can also bring some checks. You are allowed to cash checks at the bank on camp up to $2000USD/week for U.S. Banks, do not know about limit on the the bank you may have.
2000 to 3000 Saudi Riyals will get you through a first month, depending on your spending habits and number of dependents.

Before you leave, you may want to call your credit card company to inform them that you will be traveling to Saudi Arabia so they can expect some charges to be made from Saudi Arabia. Many credit card companies automatically deny foreign charges as a way to protect the customer from fraudulent activity.

Dooange
If you are coming over as a secretary, you will be housed in the ballpark apartments. Your husband would not be permitted to stay with you as it is female housing only.

Hi Dooang & Mollymoo I am new to site and have interview in London next week for secretarial position even though I applied for executive assistant position. I was wondering if either of you were successful and accepted offer? I am also wondering about my husband.... he wants to move to Saudi too so can he come with me or would it be easier for me to get him a job once I'm over in Saudi? Sorry for all the questions but I don't know anyone in Saudi and obviously don't want to leave my husband behind for a number of years! I could manage leaving him at home for about a year to have a break!! Also does anyone know if there is a difference in terms and benefits between secretarial and personal/executive assistant positions? Kind regards Ellamac

Women are not given family status. You will be unable to bring your husband when you come. He can apply for postions with Aramco through the website links below. If he were to be successful in getting hired by Aramco, then your status would change. You would become a casual hire and the family benefits would come through your husband.
Once you are here, you will be able to apply for him a visitor visa. When you apply for a visitor visa for a family member, you must have housing sign off on whether your visitor can stay with you in your accommodation. Some ladies' housing, men are not allowed. You won't know that until you receive your housing assignment and check with housing for having male visitors. The ladies do work around this and you would be able to find out about all the ways to do so once you are here.
