we brought three portable hard drives with us. no issues at all at the customs. as we had a number of movies and holiday photos on it, we just ensured before leaving that there are no 15+ rated movies or any beach holiday photos as in case they want to scan it, it doesnt fall into possible objectionable material.

Hi Everyone
I understand that any antiques or similar is at high risk of confiscation, but what about paintings (not showing human bodies of course)?

We brought all our paintings, still life and landscapes. No problem.

DeeDee6822,
Probably not a problem, but always subject to individual inspector. No one on this forum can give you a hard yes or no. I recommend you bring dolls or any special stuffed animals with you on the plane and not send them by sea shipment. I also recommend that the dolls be fully clothed (weird, but anyone with little kids will know what I mean--oh, how they love to lug around half dressed dollies). When we relocated, we splurged on some new outfits for Barbies/Moxies, to make sure they met dress code here. No midriff tops, shorty shorts or swimwear. They weren 't even looked at when we went through customs, but I'm glad Barbie was dressed like us, LOL. After arrival, my daughter enjoyed buying Fulla here (regional version of Barbie, but conservative). She had fun dressing her with abaya and hijab.

Thanks. That makes sense to have them fully clothed.
