Hi folks
I have heard that SADARA employees and their families are living at the compound. Is this true and do they have the same access privileges as an Aramcon family such as access to the SA schools? Any information would be much appreciated as they have jobs advertised that I am qualified for and I would be bringing my wife and 4 year old with me.
Hope someone can help out.
Many thanks
James
PS. If this is true and anyone knows a SADARA employee living at RT, would it be possible for me to contact them by e-mail as I have questions regarding employment with SADARA.

I have met a wife of a SADARA employee....I would think hard about taking the job. As for now, they are not allowed to purchase a personal vehicle. They have been allotted some golf carts to get them around camp, but not each family gets one, they are shared. She also mentioned that she has to home school her daughter, so I'm assuming they do not have access to the school. It is a completely different animal than a regular employment with Saudi Aramco. You can always apply, interview and see what they tell you at that point. You can always turn them down.

Hi soverydeb
Thanks for the prompt response. I have applied for jobs within Saudi Aramco and am just waiting to see what happens. I assumed that as it was a SA joint venture then the benefits would be the same as those of an SA employee. I have managed to get a contact number for someone at SADARA and will see what they say.
Thanks
James

A joint venture company with Aramco does not mean the benefits from both companies are the same.

Hi vpainter I'm in the process of trying to find out what the benefits are of working for SADARA compared to SA are. The SADARA website makes no mention of remuneration and benefits of working for them plus there are no contact details. James

Good Luck, this is an Aramco forum, you may not find your answers here.

I was informed this evening by one of the doctors in RT that his kids go to school with a few kids whos parents work for SADARA, so if this is true maybe its a case by case basis or maybe the other persons kids had special needs or some such. Its worth looking in to...

There are some contractor employees (Schlumberger) living in Udhailiyah family camp, and their kids attend the school. BUT I think it may be because there are no other schooling options nearby for expats. The only option would be for them to bus their kids 1 hour each way to Al Hasa. As far as I know, only Saudis are busing their kids to Alhasa because they're not allowed in the Aramco schools past K.
If there is an international school outside the RT compound that is acceptable, then that may be why they are not allowing SADARA employees' kids to attend the Aramco school. Also, as mentioned by Twofeets, it could be that that particular child was not accepted into the Aramco school for some reason.

Hi UmmRiyam and Twofeets
Thanks for this additional information regarding the schools. I'm in the process of trying to get in contact with someone from SADARA via someone who works for Saudi Aramco Overseas - it's not very easy!!. Hopefully when I do, I'll ask that question and find out if they are planning to build compounds with schools at Jubail.
Twofeets - I don't suppose you know any one who works for SADARA and who could give me an e-mail address for their HR/Recruitment department? The SADARA website does not have a Contact Us section on it. This isn't very clever when you're trying to contact them :?

Yes, Sadara employees can send their kids to school (it's paid for by the company, or at least was offered to us and others that are seconded by Dow), but have to send high-school students on the bus to Dharhan (sp?). Dow secondees are not allowed to drive. I'm not sure about Sadara direct hires. There are new compounds being built in Jubail, and there are elementary schools there, but no high school.
Hope this helps!

There is at least on school in Jubail that has a high school, the ISG Jubail school, I have coached sports teams playing against their high school-age teams on several occasions.
According to their website, they have elementary, middle and high school programs.
