Just received my offer by email rigth before July 4th. I should get the writen offer by tomorrow. I was suprised how low the offer was taken in consideration that I have 17 years experience and have a Mater Degree from the U.S. Is the offer negotiable? If not, i will turn it down; with my experience I think GC 12 is low. I have till July 10th the make a final decision. Please I need some advice. Thanks.

Yes, your salary is negotiable.
There are people with 20 years experience in GC 12.
Each position in Aramco is assigned a GC, you can try to negotiate it, but may not be successful with that particular negotiation. They can only say no, and then you make your decision on what's best for you.

My 2 cents: GC12 is well within the benefit parameters of GC11-14. Even if you successfully negotiate a higher GC level and get 13, that does not nessasirly mean a higher salary. Take a closer look at your compensation package. Does it meets or exceeds your target? Only you can determine that.
Negotiate Carefully. And only if you have strong, well-supported grounds.
Good luck.

I wonder you have considered the overall package, not just the base salary, e.g. no income tax, expat premium, travel, school, housing, allowances, 401k/pension, etc.?

Thank you all for the advise, after ysing the compensation package, I tought the offer was not high enough and I turned it down. I was able to negotiate however, my compensation requirements were not met. This oppprtunity was not suitable for me at this time, I congratulate every one who has accepted their offer and I wish you all good luck in Saudi Arabia. I have nothing bad to say about Saudi Aramco, everyboby was good and professional during the entire process and I will recommend this company to friends and eventualy apply for another position in the future.

I have successfully negotiated a higher compensation package within the same grade code. When I received the initial offer, I turned it down and my recruiter asked me what where my expectations. I told her what I would consider to accept the offer. After 2-3 weeks, I received an email with the new offer with the compensation closed to what I requested. I accepted the offer, now I am doing the BI and medical. Thank all for your advise.

As stated on my previous post, I accepted the Offer and will be relocating in the Kingdom next month. I will be working in Dhahran for the Central Community Services. I was given the choice to pick my housing location between Abqaiq and Ras Tanura compound. My family won't join me, I will have therefore the Bachelor status. My relocation advisor told me that only women with the bachelor status are assigned housing in the Dhahran compound. There are losts of posting in this forum about the (2) compounds, which one would you recommend based on my status?

Ras Tanura - the commute to Dhahran is shorter and you are next to the sea here. There are many commuting to Dhahran from here. Did they tell you that you would be living in a studio apt (400 sq ft). If you go to Abqiaq, you might get the townhouse (700 sq ft). but the commute is further and its hotter there.

Thanks wanderand, my relocation advisor told me that housing in Abqaiq for bachelor is almost twice larger than the one in Ras Tanura. I read also in this forum that there is a noticeable bad smell in the air in, or around the Ras tanura. Can someone confirm it?

Ras Tanura and Abqaiq are almost equal distance from DHA - 45 mins without the traffic. Ras Tanura has the beach on camp, so if you like activities at the beach that is where to live. ABq has a beach but it is a drive away from camp.
ABQ you do get a larger accommodation.
Under the discussion groups: Living in Aramco Communities: Living in RT and Living in ABQ, you will find an incomplete list of the self directed groups in those compounds. You may want to check those lists for activities you enjoy or would like to do. There are a few differences.
Either one, you will have a good social life and if working in DHA, then you will have an hour to hour and a half commute.

Thank you vpainter for the reply. Sofar, I am thinking about selecting the RT compound first because of the beach, second I read that it's closer to Dhahran. I still have couple weeks before making the final decision.

I have never smelled it. I am only here 7 weeks though but no one here talks about it and I think if it were a big issue it would be brought up. I am sure from time to time you can get some smells but overall the air is fresh sea breeze

Please note, I have been to RT and to ABQ from DHa. They are equal distance from DHA, one to the North and one to the Southwest.
