Does anyone has any good recommendations regarding spending a 10-day long vacation in Turkey? We are mostly interested in natural scenery. How is renting car over there? Regards.

Hi Nascan
I did this trip last year (although it was April so snow was a small problem in some areas but it was awesome) I highly recommend it. Before going into the details, you need to be aware of two things: -Petrol is very expensive over there (I read somewhere that it is the second most expensive in the world) -Driving is not easy, especially in istanbul (very crowded), but coming from Saudi I think you guys might have a edge.
So the trip we did started off in Istanbul, going south of the marmara coast along the turquoise beaches (between Istanbul and Izmir there are a LOT of historical sights (troy...) and the coast has nice town for beach and partying is that is in the menu for you. From Izmir we spent a couple of days in Marmaris (or head to antalaya if you are looking for a larger city), again more relaxing and beach. Next destination was cappadocia, it is a harder drive and a bit longer (to Aksaray), we spend a day there seeing all the houses in the rocks and flying hot baloons... The next step was the best in my book as we turned north towards Bolu, passing by ankara(not much to see but we spent the night there). Bolu and the area have some great natural sceneries, Pine forests and lacs. Bolu to Istanbul was about 3h drive so we didnt spend the night.
To see all there to see in Turkey you will need years, and istanbul alone with all its mosques and castles will need weeks, but a full 2 day in istanbul is enough to get the big picture.
PM me is you need more details.
