dunkinmocha, From my understanding, your husband; unless specifically told, will not be working for ASC (Aramco Services Company), if living in Saudi Arabia, he will be working for Saudi Aramco. Saudi Aramco isn't a US company.
He being on Saudi Aramco's US payroll wouldn't qualify him working for a US company. I may be wrong in this, but this has been my understanding. If it does result in working for a US company, then I would definitely be taking this approach also. I'm also scheduled to relocate in late Aug/Sept. My wife is also a US permanent resident and Im US citizen. We're coming to terms that she may need to relinquish her GC if our stay becomes longterm.
My recommendation: if your husband gets his place on the visa block and your citizenship process conflicts with your relocation, just let the relocation advisor know you would like to change your status from family to delayed family; which would mean you will follow your husband within 90 after his departure. Abandoning your N400, Id say wouldn't be wise at all since you've come so far already.

fsaeed81,
Glad to know someone else is in the same boat!
I confirmed with the relo advisor, and her response was that "as long as you are holding an American passport, you will be on US payroll". But as you mentioned, the paycheck may come from Aramco Services Co., but as long as it's a subsidiary of a foreign company, it will not fly with USCIS (I wonder if it is?)
The only way to expedite the naturalization process, is to apply as spouse of citizen working abroad for a US company. With that being said, USCIS requires a letter from Aramco stating information such as job le, length of stay, nature of the business as well as the eny structure for Aramco Services/Saudi Aramco. I do not believe this letter is easy to get (still waiting for a response...).
So I agree with you, with everything up in the air with visa block, our best bet is apply for it right away and just see what happens. Thanks for your input, hope everything works out for all of us!!

There has been many comments on green card holders in the forum. A search for different words regarding it will give you more information.
Working for Aramco is not working for a US company even though on the U.S. payroll. Payroll structure and names have changed recently and many new hires are on the Global Payroll.
I do not know how that will effect you.

I have had a green card for close to 20 years. my wife is a US citizen as are our kids. I never naturalized, as I saw no benefit in that (other than being able to go on jury duty, and vote). I am going as bachelor. I will relinquish my green card, and visit my family as a tourist. once I want to return, I will re-apply. no sense in paying the IRS all that income tax. I do not have to pay tax in my "home country", in Scandinavia.
I was put on "global payroll" as apparently they just changed the rules, and I do not qualify on the US payroll.

My question is somewhat similar.
Does the Saudi law allow one's wife to work in KSA? My wife is seeking her Certificate of Eligibility here in states. Does that help her getting a job there in a school?

Some wives work as casual employees with Aramco, meaning that certain benefits come through the husband, not the wife.
Outside Aramco, your wife would probably have to change her sponsor to her employer instead of Aramco. Which would mean you would not be guaranteed the same vacation times.
