I have been contacted by ASC Houston about coming to interview the week of April 15th, and wanted to create a topic for anyone in the same boat.

I have not heard anything yet! Interview went well, they wanted more writing samples since I was applying for PR position.
Let's see what happens, per recruiter this can take up to 2-3 weeks or longer. They were not sure of the departments timeline.
Is this pretty common?

I was in the group who were interviewed April 11-13 for BGP. I was asked for the payslip on 15-Apr which I submitted on 16th. Should I expect a long silence after that?

Yes Eng-smile. The normal wait after the first interview is anywhere from 1 month to 6 months. However, if you don't hear anything within a month time frame, I would recommend you call your recruiter to check on the status. Recruiters are usually busy, and it may take a call or email to expedite the process little bit.

Thanks zsb. The timeline you wrote sounds like pretty much the case. However I notice few candidates who were interviewed Feb 7-9 got the offer Feb 22-25. Why they were so lucky still remain the question as it seems like nobody know how the things get prioritize in Saudi Aramco. Reason I wrote the post to see if someone in that interview group April 11-13 thinks that BGP jobs are in some priority. The way recruiter approached me it sounded like there are some priority for BGP jobs:) Anyway I am tried hard to focus in my current job because first few days after the interview were no very productive as I was thinking about the offer pretty much all day:)

Months later, the same will hold true...

Best advise which I can give you is to treat this as if nothing is going to happen. My approach has been if its going to happen, it will happen and there is nothing I can do to change the process or outcome. It takes an awfully long time and a person can easily go crazy thinking about the specifics of the interview, offer, move etc. As you may have already seen from the forum, there are no quick turnarounds. Some people may have received quick offers due to number of different factors (job demand, availability of decision makers to provide approvals etc). Lot of times process also gets delayed due to recruiters dealing with 100s of applicant's (and your email approval maybe just sitting on recruiters computer or if they are on vacation, etc. That's why I mentioned earlier that it is a good idea to check on the status if you haven't received any response in a month.

Patience is a virtue with Aramco. I have worked for Aramco Services over 10 years and recently accepted a position in Dhahran. The process was started months ago so its doesn't matter if you are a new hire or a seasoned veteran when dealing with the bureaucracy that is Aramco. :?

Hi there! I am a new applicant to SA and I wanted to share my experience with the application process. I was initially turned on to SA by a headhunter, and when that process didn’t go through I decided to apply on my own …. and I got a call!! For the past 3+ weeks I’ve been lurking on this forum. Actually, I think I have read every single thread and I still have questions! I am a single female from Houston and I am concerned about taking the cash in lieu and how many things I can bring on the plane. I will leave those questions in my head until I get closer to leaving. If anyone wants to PM me and give me pointers please do so, especially single females (I would love to hear how you live!). Interview: My interview was decent. I liked the engaged conversation about the interview instead of the question answer format. I explained to the interviewers (two) about my work history, specifically my work overseas. I like this format as it was more of an “interview” to see if I would fit and where. Call after: My interview was on a Monday and I called all week to get the status. My recruiter didn't answer so I was very distraught that I failed the interview. On the following Monday my recruiter called and said that my interview was successful and he is working on my offer letter. I haven't heard from him since but I know they are busy so I will let them work. I've posted my timeline below to help with newcomers, just like I’ve been helped by the employees before me.
