If anyone can offer advice on having their Aramco pay deposited into offshore Cdn$ account please PM me. I have been advised by my accountant to not deposit my pay into my bank account in Canada. I would prefer not to give the CRA any reason to question my tax status so wish to follow this advice. Thanks in advance.

Ten,
Hi! My name is Michael (from Vancouver)and I am going to be going to Abqaiq in the New Year (date still unknown as we are still in the pre visa stage of submitting all of our medical info and the new rtequirements of police report and verification of my Master's degree).
I do not have any assistance for you and I am sorry for that, but do you know much about meeting the non resident criteria of what is required by our government? I have read a number of different threads regarding this and they seem to be varying in their info.
Any and all help that you could give me would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Michael

Hi Michael
There's a lot of information on the CRA website. I suggest you read everything there including 'income tax folio S5-F1-C1'. It's not surprising there are a lot of different opinions on the threads because the rules are open to interpretation. Finally, it's worth consulting a tax accountant and getting recommendations from someone who's job it is to know such things.
It boils down to cutting your residential and financial ties to Canada. The more things you can do to accomplish that the less chance you'll have of having your non residence status questioned.
Good luck with your relocation.
Ten

Ten, Thank you very much for your time and the information. It is funny, in a twisted way, that such things are open to interpretation, but that is our government... I will definitely go through the CRA website carefully as well as get in contact with a tax accountant. Thank you for the good wishes and I wish you all the luck in the world as well.
Cheers,
Michael
