Hi everyone! We're a young Aussie family moving to RT possibly within the next 4 months. We're currently based in Abu Dhabi (UAE) where we've been living for almost two years til hubby got the Aramco offer Excited...but obviously a little nervous too!
Would like to know more info about the schools - what are they like? ) Is there only one, or a few? My boys are 7 and 5 years old. Also curious to know if the schools there offer extraextracurricular activites - things like soccer for kids, tae kwon do, swimming etc?
I hear there's a cinema in town but cannot find a single image of it online (except some newspaper photo taken in 1950 I think)....does anybody have one? Or the shopping centre there? Curious to see what it looks like.
I also have a 10 month old daughter and was interested in joining a mothers group/playgroup when I arrive...hope there's lots of those kind of things available too
Look forward to hearing from some people! Thanks xx

Welcome to Aramco! You will love RT.
There is an Elementary School PreK to 5th grade and the Middle School is 6th grade to 9th grade. The Aramco Schools are excellent. You can be assured your children will receive an excellent education. The schools do have clubs and a few sports activities (basketball, track and field, cross country, Volleyball), but most sports are done through sports groups including the soccer and Marshall Arts groups and swim team.
The movie theater is one screen that usually shows 2 movies an evening. The movies in KSA are usually 6 months to a year old and have been censored. If you want current release movies you make a trip to any one of Bahrain's movie theaters - Most everyone does that.
There are malls in the Khobar area: Al Rashid Mall and The Dhahran Mall. These malls are large, have play areas for the kids. There may be a few stores you are used to having, but many will be different names.
There are play groups, I'm sure you will find one you'll enjoy with your daughter.
